Friday Morning We Sail Alongside Hubbard Glacier
.
Our captain had promised that he would sail the ship as close to Hubbard Glacier as he could get that morning. We had a quick meal in the room and then went out on deck for not only a spectacular sight, but the amazing sound that accompanied it! There would be a "Crack!" like a rifle shot, and the sound of thunder! It was awesome! We stood out in a drizzling rain, but I didn't want to go back inside and miss anything. There were actually two glaciers that fed into this site where we sailed, as seen in the 3rd & 4th pictures. The ice floating below us was in a sea of slush. And the color was as turquoise as it looks.
